Hi there, and welcome! I’m sew glad you’re here.
I’m Ellie, a passionate home sewer, amateur quilter, and fabric enthusiast who believes that a little creativity (and a lot of thread) can make the world a more beautiful place.
My sewing journey started with trying to find a mental break from life. I was looking for a hobby that occupied my brain, but not too much, and resulted in something useable. I started with paint-by-numbers, meandered through bedazzling, and couldn't quite knit fast enough to satisfy myself before I made two pillowcase dresses for my toddler (one of which was totally unwearable, but she loved them) and became addicted (the wearable one featured above!).
Over the years, my sewing machine (a vintage Kenmore 30 stitch from my mom) and I have stitched through over 100 projects and counting. I generally focus on billowy dresses (and the occasional pant) for myself, and miles of ruffles for my daughter, but I have recently started my first quilt! My favorite thing is when someone compliments my outfit and I get to say "Thanks, I made it!"
Along the way, I’ve fallen in love with the art of precision, the joy of problem-solving, and the deep satisfaction that comes from creating something with my own two hands. And fallen out of love with maintaining scissor sharpness, wrist pain, and ripping seams (I'd pretty much rather trash a project than seam-rip extensively).
One thing I learned pretty quickly? Having the right tools on hand makes all the difference. That’s why I created my monthly subscription service — to help fellow sewers and quilters stay stocked up on essentials like rotary blades and sewing machine needles, without the last-minute “oh no, I’m out!” scramble. It’s one less thing for you to worry about, so you can spend more time doing what you love: creating.
Here, I share tips, tricks, project ideas, and a little behind-the-scenes look at a life stitched together by creativity. Whether you're just learning to thread your machine or you’ve been quilting for decades, my goal is to make sewing feel easy, joyful, and a little more fun.
Thanks for stopping by — I hope you find some inspiration, some encouragement, and maybe even a few new tools to make your sewing life a little easier. Let’s stitch something wonderful together!
-Ellie
